David Fizdale serves as the assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before becoming a member of the 2020 NBA Champion’s coaching staff, Phil Handy served as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors, following five seasons in the same role with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2013-18).

Overall, he has coached in each of the last six NBA Finals, winning titles with the Lakers, Raptors, and Cavaliers in 2020, 2019, and 2016, respectively. A native of San Leandro, Handy returns to the Lakers after spending 2011-13 as an assistant coach.
