Oliver Taylor Hawkins (February 17, 1972 – March 25, 2022) was an American drummer who was most involved in the work with the rock band Foo Fighters. He was the traveling drummer for Sass Jordan and Alanis Morissette, and the drummer in the progressive exploratory band Sylvia, before joining the band in 1997.

Jason’s brother Taylor attended Thurston Middle School and Laguna Beach High School. He joined Sass Jordan as a drummer after leaving the Orange County-based band, Sylvia.

Hawkins revealed in an interview with BBC Radio 6 that beating drums for Jordan was his “first professional gig.”

Taylor Hawkins’ father is Terry Hawkins and his mother is Elizabeth Ann Hawkins.

Taylor Hawkins grew up in a decent family, even though he hasn’t spoken extensively about his extended family background.

His father and mother haven’t been in the limelight. He only mentioned them a few times during his media rounds.

During an interview last year, he disclosed how he was influenced and inspired by his mother. “My mum had her demons and a dark side.

She was full of love, sweetness, and tenderness and the total opposite of my dad. She always believed in me,” he disclosed.
