Malik Monk is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Monk announced on his Twitter account on November 18, 2015 that he would be enrolling at the University of Kentucky.
In a game against the University of North Carolina that took place on December 17, 2016, Monk broke the record for most points scored by a freshman at the University of Kentucky by tallying 47 points.
Twelve days later, in a victory over Ole Miss by a score of 99–76, he scored 34 points on five-for-seven shooting from beyond the arc.
Monk led his team to victory over South Carolina by scoring 27 points in their 85–69 victory on January 21, 2017.
On the 31st of January, 2017, he scored 37 points while playing against the Georgia Bulldogs. On February 25, 2017, Monk led his team to a victory over Florida by scoring 33 points in the game.
