LeBron James is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

James was featured in Slam, an American basketball magazine, before the start of his junior year, and writer Ryan Jones proclaimed him as probably “the best high school basketball player in America right now”.

James was the first high school basketball underclassman to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated during the season.

He was crowned Ohio Mr. Basketball for the second year in a row with an average of 29 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, and he became the first junior to be named male basketball Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Despite having a 23–4 overall record, St. Vincent-St. Mary was defeated in the Division II final game.

After the defeat, James attempted to amend the NBA’s draft eligibility criteria in order to enter the 2002 draft. His plea was denied.

This was a time when he smoked marijuana, which he claimed was a way to deal with the continual media attention he was getting.

LeBron James Parents: Meet Gloria Marie James And Anthony McClelland

Gloria Marie James and Anthony McClelland are the parents of LeBron James, the professional basketball player.

His mother, Gloria was 16 when he gave birth to James. His father Anthony McClelland has an extensive criminal record and was not involved in his life.

LeBron James goes by his mother’s last name on the basketball court. The reason for this is that his father wasn’t particularly involved in his life as a child. Gloria James gave birth to him when she was just 16 years old.
