Kent Bazemore is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association.
As a junior at Old Dominion University in 2010–11, Bazemore won the Lefty Driesell Award, an award given to the best defensive player in college basketball.
Kent went undrafted in the NBA draft in 2012. Later in the Orlando Summer League, he joined the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He also played in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors signed him on July 26 of the same season after seeing his play.
During that season, he was assigned to the NBA Development League’s Santa Cruz Warriors several times.
On March 15, 2013, he set a season-best with 14 points in a loss to the Chicago Bulls in that league.
In July 2013, Kent returned to Golden State for the 2013 NBA Summer League, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Kent was reassigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors in February 2014, then Golden State recalled him.
On February 19, 2014, Kent and MarShon Brooks were traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Steve Blake.
On March 4, kent equaled his career-best of 23 points in a loss against the New Orleans Pelicans. After tearing a tendon in his right foot on April 7, he was ruled out for the rest of the season.
