Is Mac McClung still a Laker?

Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic reports that the Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Mac McClung to a two-way NBA contract.

During his time with the South Bay Lakers of the G League, McClung averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 assists, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steal a game on 47 percent shooting (37.3 percent from three-point range).

In recognition of his accomplishments, he was named G League Rookie of the Year for his efforts.

In the Western Conference, the Lakers ended with a record of 21-11, good enough for third place.

Agua Caliente Clippers defeated Santa Cruz Warriors to get to the conference semifinals, where they lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

For the Lakers in the Summer League, McClung averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while playing 16.1 minutes per contest.

Before waiving him on Oct. 13 after just 16 minutes of action in three preseason games, the Lakers signed him to a one-day contract. Ten days later, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in South Bay.

Afterward, McClung signed two 10-day contracts with the Chicago Bulls, one on December 22 and the other on January 1 (both dates inclusive).

On December 29, he appeared in one game for the Bulls and contributed with a two-pointer in his three minutes of action.

Additionally, on January 4, McClung appeared in one game for the Windy City Bulls of the G-League. He scored 19 points and had nine assists.
