Dwight Howard is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He is an NBA champion, eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year.

For the series, Howard had more rebounds (91) than the whole Toronto frontcourt combined.

It was Howard’s second straight Southeast Division title and the third seed in the NBA Playoffs that put Orlando in the playoffs; the team finished the season with a 59–23 record.

His mother, Sheryl Howard, had given birth to seven stillborn children before Dwight was born, so his birth was considered a miracle.

Due to his parents’ basketball careers, Dwight was born to play sports.

Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy’s Athletic Director is his father, a former state-level basketball player. His mother was a member of the collegiate basketball squad as well.
