There have been wide reports about a shooting incident that occurred at Arkansas Car Show.
The incident took place on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at about 7:25 pm at the Delta NEYO Hood-nic Foundation car show in the town of Dumas, about 85 miles southeast of the state capital of Little Rock.
“Preliminary information provided to ASP is that as many as 10 people had been wounded by gunfire,” said Bill Sadler, a spokesman for the Arkansas State Police.
Subsequent updates revealed that three deaths have been recorded and confirmed with over 20 persons injured, including a baby at the Arkansas Car Show shooting.
The state police did not immediately release the name of the business where the car show was taking place, nor did they say whether any suspects were identified. Dumas is about 80 miles southeast of Little Rock.
According to the Desha County Office of Emergency Management, there were two different incidents that occurred. The first began with a high-speed pursuit that ended in a head-on crash.
The second incident happened during a car show in a parking lot. Victims are being taken to local hospitals in McGehee and Dumas, with one child being transported to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. At least two victims have been airlifted from the parking lot.
