Anthony Davis is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Davis was named to the NCAA South Regional All-Tournament Team at the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
For his efforts against Louisville in the 2012 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament final four, he recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks in the game.
Davis collected 16 rebounds, six blocks, five assists, three steals, and six points in the championship game versus Kansas.
He was named to the All-Tournament squad in the NCAA Basketball Tournament after being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Four freshmen have won the Most Outstanding Player title in the last five seasons.
USBWA Freshman of the Year award went to Davis. There are 10 men on this team, and he was chosen by the USBWA as the 2011–12 Men’s All-District IV Team Player of the Year.
On March 14, Davis was named to the NABC Division I All-District 21 squad as a member of the team’s first team.
On April 1, he was also named the NABC Defensive Player of the Year and the Pete Newell Big Man Award winner.
CollegeInsider.com named him Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
